On april 6, 2013 april 7, 2013 so i took an empty bottle and mixed about 90% tru oil and 9.9% mineral spirits with a few drops of japan drier. Applied a coat with fingers and let it dry for 24 hours. True oil will require a few coats over raw wood to give adequate protection.

Either would be fine under tru oil as long as you let it dry completely (i'd give it 24 hours after the last application before your first coat of tru oil). Ive already done the final coating and ive done everything i want to it , but i just cant find any info on this particular subject. It was my third build. Last step was to finish seal it with a coat of watco's satin wax (the same as the birchwood casey gun stock wax).
